Browser Strategy Game Overview
Leviathan War is a persistent, multiplayer geopolitical strategy game. You play a single character living in a real-world region, and everything you do (working, fighting, trading, voting) plays out on a shared world map alongside everyone else.
It is free to start in a browser, with no download. You need an account to play; Emerald purchases and a Pro subscription are optional. Play Leviathan War or follow Your First Steps before joining.
If you have played eRepublik, the guide for eRepublik players maps familiar work, politics, and war concepts to Leviathan War’s different rules. The guide for Politics & War players explains why you begin as a citizen here instead of running a nation from day one. If you are comparing political games, see games where you can become president for the difference between a live multiplayer election, a campaign simulator, and a narrative presidency.
There is no single win condition. You grow your character, accumulate wealth and influence, and shape the politics and wars of your nation.
The five systems
Section titled “The five systems”| System | What you do |
|---|---|
| Economy | Own factories, produce resources, trade on the market. |
| Character | Train four stats, manage productivity & fatigue, gain experience. |
| Government | Hold residency in a state, vote, run for congress/president, pass laws. |
| Military | Build units, equip gear, and fight in wars, coups, and revolutions. |
| Social | Form parties, write community articles, climb the leaderboards. |
The core loop
Section titled “The core loop”- Work at a factory (or your own home production) to earn Levcoins and experience. Each shift spends productivity while leaving fatigue unchanged. You can work once every 5 minutes.
- Recover: set Auto-Rest to bring fatigue down (and productivity up). There’s no passive recovery; resting is an action you choose (see Fatigue & Productivity).
- Invest your earnings: train stats, buy resources, build factories, or craft military units.
- During beta, general political actions have no level requirement. Elections require 500 XP to vote and 1,000 XP to run. Residency, party-age and office rules also apply.
Two currencies
Section titled “Two currencies”- Levcoins: the main in-game currency, earned by working and trading.
- Emeralds: premium currency, earned from daily login rewards (or purchased).
See Currency for exactly how each is earned and spent.
Where you start
Section titled “Where you start”A brand-new character begins at experience 1, with all four stats at 1, 100 productivity, 0 fatigue, 0 Levcoins, 0 Emeralds, and 3 work permits. The game places you in your real country’s region when it can detect it, otherwise in a neutral starting region. See Your First Steps.
