Leveling

Your character accumulates experience (starting at 1) from working and fighting. Experience drives your level, which in turn boosts almost everything.

  • Working: every work action grants XP based on your intelligence (“education”), boosted by your region’s higher-education index and your luck.
  • Combat: every attack grants XP based on the damage you deal, boosted by luck.

Your displayed character level increases resource production and combat damage. Combat uses the same displayed level; there is no separate experience ÷ 100 combat level. Work XP depends on intelligence, regional higher education, luck and your personal base. Combat XP depends on damage, luck and your base.

During the current beta, politics has no level requirement. Residency, party age and office permissions still apply. The configured requirement after beta is level 2.

Resource and corn factories earn 1 XP per shift and have no level cap. Military factories earn 20 XP per unit produced and cap at level 50. Level is 1 + floor(sqrt(XP / 250)), subject to the military cap. At every 10-level checkpoint, XP pauses until its breaker is paid: 250 Emeralds × (checkpoint / 10). The board authorizes spending company Emeralds; an operator can also pay personally.
